Meet Patrick Flores, Health Connect Properties’ (HCP’s) controller! Patrick works directly with the company’s property managers, analyzing property cash flows and preparing monthly owner reports. His daily responsibilities includes reviewing, maintaining, and analyzing the general ledger along with preparing monthly financial reports.
1) Why did you get into real estate?
Prior to moving to Colorado, I worked for Simon Property Group (SPG), where my love for real estate developed. I oversaw financials for five west coast properties — averaging over 140 tenants per property.
It is an ever-changing industry, providing constant opportunities for professional and personal growth. Knowing that my work facilitates how to best achieve a client’s objective is rewarding to me.
2) What is your vision for HCP moving forward?
I envision growth for HCP through constant expansion of our property management portfolio. We are already a well-known real estate company in the Rocky Mountain region, and I am excited to see our visibility grow in the future.
4) What advice would you give someone starting in the industry?
Practice patience, and learn something from every experience! Make sure to ask questions — it can help expand your view of a problem, allowing you to find a solution quickly.
5) How do you spend your free time?
My time outside of work is spent primarily with my wife and three children. Most weekends are booked taking the kids to soccer leagues, but we enjoy making time for skiing, exploring the mountains, and enjoying other sports activities.
