Debbie Carlson joined Health Connect Properties, Inc. in 2003 as Director of Asset and Property Management, bringing with her twenty-two years of commercial real estate experience.  Thirteen of those twenty-two years are in the specialized field of healthcare real estate.  Ms. Carlson’s background includes the management and leasing of medical, general office, industrial and low income housing properties, institutional asset management, tenant finish coordination and sales brokerage.  In January, 2005 Debbie became co-owner of the company and directs the property management side of the business.

Ms. Carlson’s previous position was Director of Property Management for InSite Properties, Inc. in Denver.  In this position she managed nine property managers and oversaw approximately 2,000,000 square feet of medical office space and an additional 300,000 square feet of commercial office space.  She was responsible for lease compliance issues, tenant finish coordination, new management assignments and property setup, as well as providing direction, supervision and on-going training to the staff.  She was also the liaison between the client and the property managers to assure that client’s
goals were met.
 
During her career she has demonstrated expertise in tenant finish coordination projects ranging from remodeling individual suites to total building renovation and new construction.  She has completed sales transactions on land and general office buildings ranging in value from $370,000 to $2,000,000.  Additional accomplishments include the management and liquidation of a $200 million portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential Real Estate Owned (REO) assets under federal receivership, loan refinancing and restructuring for clients and environmental remediation for real estate assets. 

Ms. Carlson began her real estate career in Denver managing medical office space with Western Skies, Inc. in 1981.  In 1988, she managed real estate syndications for a firm in Boston, Massachusetts and then returned to Denver in 1990 and joined the Resolution Trust Corporation as an REO asset manager.  She advanced her career by joining InSite Properties, Inc. in 1997 as a Property Manager, Leasing Agent and Tenant Finish Coordinator and was promoted to Director of Property Management in 1999.
