New Oncology Partnership at Red Rocks Medical Center

Alliance Healthcare Services, Inc. has announced their partnership with Red Rocks Radiation and Oncology, LLC, and Kevin Schewe, MD. The Golden-based site is now part of Alliance’s national network of facilities and the group’s first location in Colorado. Click here to learn more about the partnership.

Health Connect Properties is proud to serve as the property managers for Red Rocks Medical Center since the building’s opening in 2010. Every June, the property holds a National Cancer Survivors Day celebrating those who are survivors, providing inspiration for those recently diagnosed, and supporting families and the local community. Wassik Named 2016 DMCAR Heavy Hitter Finalist

Another year and another award for Patricia Wassik, President of Health Connect Properties (HCP). Pat was named a 2016 DMCAR Heavy Hitters Finalist after taking second place in the small office category for two years in a row. This past year, Wassik completed $15,400,000 in transaction volume and completed 26 deals.

The competition recognizes Denver’s leading commercial real estate professionals – a group of which Wassik is no stranger.

In 2013, Wassik was recognized as Denver’s top producing small office broker and in 2015 she was also named the second place finalist.

Wassik was instrumental in leasing nearly 75% of the brand new MOB at 195 Inverness Drive West. The building – completed in April 2016 – houses Colorado Skin and Vein, PeakMed, and Rocky Mountain Labs. She also worked as the local tenant rep broker for Advanced Dermatology as the group opened a clinic in Cherry Creek. Pat continues to work at the head of the real estate team for the MOBs at both Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and Platte Valley Medical Center.

2016: Year in Review

The Cubs won, Britain withdrew…and for the first time in company history, Health Connect Properties moved office locations! 2016 was a big year for all, indeed.

HCP did, in fact, say goodbye to 3400 Bayaud in Cherry Creek and opened our doors in downtown Denver at 999 18th Street. New staff members were welcomed to the HCP family with Lindsay Sullivan coming onboard as the Property Services Coordinator, Melissa Niswonger as Property Manager, and Patrick Flores as Property Accountant.

The brokerage arm of our company acquired several new listings including the expansion of our portfolio’s footprint to Thornton at 9461 Huron Street. We also ingratiated our presence even further in Grand Junction at 201 W. Park Drive. As listing brokers, Pat and Abby received signed leases at the grandiose Colorado Skin & Vein building at 195 Inverness as the building welcomed PeakMed and Rocky Mountain Labs to the mix. BoulderCentre for Orthopedics joined 1120 W. South Boulder Road in Lafayette, and HCP continued to administer and negotiate leasing at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s and Platte Valley Medical Center’s medical office buildings. Of notable tenant rep deals, HCP completed a 4,900 SF deal for Advanced Dermatology at 155 S. Madison in Cherry Creek.

On the property management side, Lincoln Hoffman was named the Director of Property Management – yay, Lincoln! Under his expert guidance, HCP introduced several new partnerships for our building owners. Refuse Specialists (trash brokerage), Aquicor (energy monitoring system), and Building Engines (work order management) contribute to our goal of reducing costs and maximizing property’s efficiency. The property management team oversaw a total of 800,000 SF, 22 buildings, and nearly 150 tenants this year.

Deb Carlson and Steve Floersch delivered Platte Valley Medical Center’s second MOB as the project management team. The 62,000 SF building welcomed its first tenant in March 2016. HCP managed the budget, vendors, and the project’s schedule along with our standard leasing responsibilities for the incoming tenants.

And with that, we thank our clients and colleagues for a wonderful 2016 – onward to 2017!

Pat Wassik Honored as DMCAR Heavy Hitter Finalist

Health Connect Properties’s (HCP) Patricia Wassik has been recognized by the Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors in their annual Heavy Hitters competition. The competition, sponsored by the Denver Business Journal, recognizes top producers in the Denver commercial real estate market. In 2015, Wassik had the second most sales volume for small office brokers – trailing the category’s top broker by only $400,000. Her total of $22,299,547 led the next small office broker by over $6,000,000.

The honor is not a novelty for Wassik as HCP’s President was awarded the top recognition for small office broker in 2013 and continually proves to be a top producing healthcare broker in the Front Range region.

In 2015, her top deal included several leases for Platte Valley Medical Center. Her work extends to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she completed two transactions for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center; and Paladina Health, a quickly expanding employer-sponsored healthcare provider, found a location at Cornerstar Healthcare Plaza by way of Wassik’s guidance. Her expertise also extends to building sales as Wassik assisted in selling 991 Southpark Drive in Littleton for nearly $4 million.

Congratulations to Pat as she only adds more accolades to her extensive career in Colorado’s healthcare real estate market!

HCP Sponsors Platte Valley Medical Center Foundation Gala

Health Connect Properties (HCP) proudly sponsored the Platte Valley Medical Center (PVMC) Foundation’s annual gala on Friday, March 4 at the Stonebrook Manor in Thornton.

The foundation is a non-profit organization that supports PVMC programs and services. This year’s fundraising went to the hospital’s cardiovascular campaign. Learn more about our client’s mission here.

HCP and PVMC’s relationship spans over the course of ten years. The partnership has seen the establishment of four medical office buildings including MOB I and MOB II on the PVMC main campus and the Fort Lupton and South Reunion buildings. HCP managed the projects from beginning to end including development, leasing, and management services.

The morning of Superbowl Sunday, HCP is joining nearly 500 ophthalmologists, optometrists, and primary care physicians at Colorado Retina’s annual event. The Mile High Masters of Retina conference is in its sixth year of providing retina education to the Colorado medical community. Representative Mike Coffman will open the event as the keynote speaker, followed by presentations from the most well-respected physicians and practitioners in the field.

Patricia Wassik, HCP President, and Abby Bartolotta, Director of Marketing & Leasing, will be at the event to assist attendees with any healthcare real estate needs. From physicians looking to move locations, expand, or downsize, we are happy to help. Check out our booth for information, fun giveaways, and a chance to work on your short game as a break in between lectures (we do, in fact, come with a putting green).

HCP has plenty of experience in successfully finding building space for eye doctors. In addition to placing Colorado Retina in their location at Porter Hospital and in Superior, we also recently negotiated their expansion at Red Rocks Medical Center.

Platte Valley Medical Plaza Opens in Fort Lupton

It’s official – Platte Valley Medical Center (PVMC) has brought their high quality healthcare practice to the city of Fort Lupton. Platte Valley Medical Plaza, located on the southwest side of 1st Street and Rollie Avenue, had their grand opening on December 5, 2015.

In addition to managing construction and development of the site, Health Connect Properties (HCP) also is the listing broker and property manager.

“We are so proud to continue our partnership with Platte Valley Medical Center with the opening of their new, beautiful building,” said Deb Carlson, COO of HCP. “From the beginning of our work with PVMC in 2004, we have seen significant strides in their expansion of healthcare services and facilities in the Adams and Southern Weld Counties. This new medical plaza in Fort Lupton is an extension of the wonderful care PVMC provides and offers accessibility to a wider range of Coloradans.”

HCP joined John Hicks, President & CEO of Platte Valley Medical Center, Tommy Holton, Mayor of Fort Lupton, and several local businesses for the Platte Valley Medical Plaza ribbon-cutting ceremony. Hicks provided the opening remarks while Mayor Holton spoke about the progress and building evolution of Fort Lupton. Recently, the city has seen exponential growth in both commercial and residential growth.
